DreamWorld Brings AI Text-to-3D Creation to Steam Playtest

Dreamworld, the sandbox MMO game, is set to launch a playtest on Steam starting October 10. The groundbreaking feature allows players to generate 3D assets using simple text prompts.  The AI startup promises an interactive and fun new approach to creativity.

The company revealed that the new AI text-to-3D asset feature was developed in partnership with Meshy. Dreamworld aims to empower players by offering creative gaming content, allowing them to design their own 3D assets.

Advanced building tools like copy/paste, volumetric selection, and a fine-tuning HUD enable players to build bigger, better, and faster than ever before, according to the company.

Players can explore a vast, procedurally-generated world in Dreamworld’s 12-hour Steam Playtest starting October 10. Join friends to fight bosses like Vyne, discover beautiful biomes, and enjoy combat, crafting, and more.

Access will be given in waves, and you can reserve your spot now. Dreamworld, backed by $3.2M from investors like YCombinator and Twitch cofounder Kevin Lin, has a small but dedicated 15-person team behind it.

In a discussion with VentureBeat, DreamWorld CEO Garrison Bellack said about the inspiration for the idea

“Our two favorite games growing up were Minecraft and World of Warcraft. We had always dreamed of creating a spiritual successor which combined the creative freedom of Minecraft, with the social massive multiplayer of World of Warcraft.”

About the uniqueness of DreamWorld’s approach,

Speaker: Bellack

“DreamWorld is unique in that we don’t just have powerful AI building tools; we also boast one of the largest multiplayer capacities ever developed. In DreamWorld, all players and created content exist within a single, shared server.”

Looking ahead, Bellack stated that DreamWorld has evolved into an actual game, opening the door to more creative possibilities and offering players a more immersive, realistic experience.
